So in Spring of 2014 I had been cooking BBQ in my back yard for 2 and a half years. I was totally obsessed with BBQ after I had my wife's Uncle's BBQ for the first time on Thanksgiving of 2011. He passed away that following year- but not without inspiring me first just through the taste of his food.

I cooked every single weekend trying to replicate the experience I had with his food. My wife and I purchased this trailer in May of 2014. Spent a month renovating with a friend and opened for business on July 12th. I remember the feelings I had the night before. I wondered if anyone would even show up. My wife laughed at that statement and said, “I think that’ll be the least of your worries. Have you ever tasted your food before?”. So we both laughed it off and opening day came. It was a great first day.

Then week after week the line grew. Month after month it got even longer. It grew until the point where when I would sound off our train horn, open the service window and go out and greet customers that there would be 50 people standing in line waiting for our food. I couldn’t believe it each time it happened. But I was super grateful.

In a 2 year span we started winning every award for best BBQ, best food truck, etc, competed on my first Food Network competition and won the show out of 7000 people who auditioned, earned my own TV show on Food Network. Then I returned home from filming and the shows airing and we got even busier.

From that point we opened up 4 other food trucks and a restaurant here in FL and grew our catering program, more awards, more TV appearances, brand deals/partnerships with companies I’d always wanted to work with and so much more.

You see, that is what was on the other side of making a decision to go for it. Not with some new fancy food trailer or truck. I purchased my trailer used. There was so much wisdom in my wife and I purchasing a used trailer and then leveraging a little elbow grease ourselves.

This trailer has been so good to me and my family. It helped us pave the way into a life that couldn’t have dreamed of. We’ve served celebrities like Guy Fieri, Lee Majors (the Million Dollar Man), professional athletes, Super Bowl champs from the Dolphins perfect season, Olympic champs, billionaire entrepreneurs and the list goes on and on… from a used trailer. I’m so glad we took that leap of faith.

But now the time has come for it to make its way to the right new owner. I haven’t operated this trailer in well over a year and it’s time for it to help someone else’s dream come true!

I’m sad and happy all at the same time. But it’s the right thing to do and the time is right.
